My name is Yasu. Born and raised in Japan. And married a Filipino lady a few years ago. And as things stand, I’ll probably live out my life here in Japan.
So in this article, I want to share why I started this website.

Information About Japan Is Shared in Japanese

As you probably know, Japan is a unique country. 98% of the population is Japanese, and everyone speaks Japanese. This means that information about Japan is primarily shared in Japanese. The same goes for the internet.
Online, the best way to find detailed information about Japan isn't by searching in English or Chinese, it's by searching in Japanese. Totally make sense.
Anyway, discovering those gaps in information you can't find online is part of the fun of traveling. But when you live in Japan, it's a different story.
Lack of Knowledge Can Cost You

For example, job listings, tips on saving money when shopping, or trendy new spots or stores in town. Almost all of this information is shared in Japanese at first. In other words, being uninformed can cost you. What’s even worse is that ignorant people don’t even realize they’re ignorant.
As I mentioned earlier, my wife is from overseas. She’s been living in Japan for a while now,
so she’s learned how to shop smart, find information, and apply for jobs in Japan. But when she first came here, she had to navigate daily life with very limited information.
Japanese Sales Staff vs. Foreigners

Here’s another example. This happened when I went to the Immigration office to renew my wife's residence card. There was a real estate agent right outside the building, aggressively pitching apartments to foreigners.
Obviously, the agent's goal is to make a profit for their company. And it's possible for them to take advantage of the foreigner to mislead them.
I don't know if that agent ended up closing a deal, but as I said earlier, lack of knowledge can make you vulnerable.
I Don't Hate Japan

I’ve seen many situations like that. The clearest example is through my wife’s experiences. Unfortunately, there are some Japanese people who look down on foreigners. I even get mistaken for a foreigner and am treated poorly when I'm out.
I can't get into all the reasons why that, but I just want foreigners who come to Japan to have access to the right and reliable information.
That’s why I created this website and the YouTube channel to support people living in Japan and share what they really need to know.
The topics I’ll cover here include:
- Money-saving tips
- Useful information for daily life in Japan
Writing about these might sound like I dislike Japan. But that’s actually the opposite. I traveled to several countries in my twenties. And after all that, I still believe Japan is a great place. Because it's safe, clean, and has the best food on the planet. *The 3rd one is not what I think, it is the fact. ^^
That’s why I built this site to share accurate information, so more people can truly enjoy this country.
- The End -
